To facilitate the integration of clothing and textiles-related content into Cooperative Extension Programs across Utah, I developed a website. The purpose of the website is to disseminate research-based information, learning activities for youth and adults, and best practices for teaching the clothing and textiles content. The website includes over 50 Cooperative Extension Fact Sheets, tutorials, and other useful resources for Extension programming focusing on clothing and textiles. Please click on the image to the left to access the website, or enter www.clothingandtextiles.org into a web browser.
NOTE: The website is divided into nine different focus areas that were chosen based on a needs assessment conducted with Utah FCS County-based Faculty. The nine areas are: Dress & Culture; Career Opportunities related to Clothing & Textiles; Fiber & Fabrics Basics; Clothing Construction; Clothing, Textiles, & the Environment; Elements & Principles of Design; Textiles & Interiors; Selection, Care, Repair, & Maintenance of Clothing & Textiles to Meet Basic Needs, and Consumer Awareness related to Clothing & Textiles.
