PART THREE: DRESS & CULTURE
Part three of the class focuses on the application of the Scale of World Cultures. Students are presented with three scales of world culture and challenged to discover the traditional dress practices of cultures from around the world. The main assessment for this section of the course is the To Be Dressed Country Research Paper and Presentation. This learning experience requires students to work effectively in a team showcasing the dress practices of individuals and families from communities around the world. This experience serves as a mid-term assessment to provide students feedback on their ability to apply concepts to cultures other than their own. Along with the To Be Dressed assessment, students continue to develop their research portfolio on the topic that they chose at the beginning of the semester.
