The process of planning for instruction can be time consuming, but once a teacher develops a process that works for him/her there can be a lot of enjoyment in it!  Below is a sample lesson plan format that students in FCS Methods 2 use to organize the instruction that they are planning for future teaching.

FROM THE TEXT.

For this course module, students will read Chapter 6:  Realm of the Senses in The Third Teacher:  79 Ways You Can Use Design to Transform Teaching and Learning by Third Teacher Plus and Cannon Design.  When a family and consumer sciences teacher is planning instruction for students in the secondary classroom, the potential for a sensory experience is great.  Whether a laboratory experience exploring the texture of fibers used in clothing, using a Real Care baby to explore child development (a baby that cries and expects attention) or the most familiar, a food laboratory experience.  Family and consumer sciences content can develop students intellect while connecting to the senses "the gateway to the mind" (p. 167).
